ARRIVAL OF THE MYRTLE BEACH LUXURY MARKET
Burroughs & Chapin Myrtle Square Mall redevelopment a 53-acre mixed-use project with parks, town homes, condo towers, commercial buildings and retail has been proposed for center beach downtown.
Market Commons at the old Myrtle Beach Air Force Base to open Spring 2008. McCaffrey Interests, Inc. of Chicago is developing the 3,790-acre "Old Air Force Base" adjacent to the Myrtle Beach Airport. "The Market Commons" will have $30 million of new infrastructure, including 29 acres of lakes, new community parks and four miles of new roads. The proposed 100-acre redevelopment will include a mix of retail, restaurant, residential, hotel, and parking uses. Ultimately, 195 apartments, 580 condos, and 845 town-homes may be built along with 3MM square feet of non-residential space including 2,600 hotel rooms.
